The first student body numbered 35. The school provides instruction for students from kindergarten through eighth grade. SJS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA). SJS consistently scores at or above the ninetieth percentile when compared to all standardized test scores in the nation for reading and mathematics, according to the US Department of Education. School enrollment is currently 320 with a student-teacher ratio of twelve to one. The faculty has an average of twelve years’ teaching experience and 47 percent have the master’s degree or higher. All faculty meet professional accrediting standards. Tuition for Saint Joseph School is among the lowest for elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, and tuition assistance is readily available. |
